If you’re considering a sale, the news of higher rates may create some fear that your home’s equity is falling. Yes, sales prices from last year have reflected about a 10% decrease in sold data – but some of that is seasonal and some of that is related to rates.
When rates go up, a buyer’s purchase power goes down and their ability to overbid is hindered.
Depending on when you bought your home, and how much equity you have – there may be an impact on your takeaway. But before you give up – let’s take a look at the big picture. Where you are relocating? Why you are selling? All these details matter.
It’s best to see where the value of your home is today and determine if your takeaway will help you achieve your next goal and if not – let’s plan. If the budget is right – selling now may be the right step as inventory is low.
